The Marvels, 3 generations reunited
The Marvels is a 2023 Marvel movie directed by Nia DaCosta.
Carol Danvers a.k.a. Captain Marvel, played by Brie Larson, is on a mission when she discovers that she can switch places with Captain Rambeau, played by Teyonah Parris, and Kamala Khan a.k.a. Miss Marvel, played by Iman Vellani, when the three of them, or at least two of them, use their power simultaneously.
Together they learn that they have to save the Kree's main planet after what Carol have done 30 years earlier in the movie Captain Marvel.
I don't develop much more about the events of the movie to avoid spoilers for those who still haven't watched it yet.
I enjoyed this movie because there's 3 generation of women (Carol, the eldest, Monica, who's in her 30's/40's it depends if we count the blip or not, and Kamala who's the youngest) and they're from 3 different ethnies; thing that I enjoyed to have 3 different generation and ethnies because they have different point of views due to their age and culture.
In some scenes I found the acting of Zawe Ashton not adapted for her acting skills, I found that she wasn't really made to do this kind of villain or not very well guided for it and it's a shame because it would have been great to improve her acting skills and make her scenes better.
I don't quite understand why people hated this movie, I mean okay I don't like much Captain Marvel but until the point to hate Brie Larson for that? Hell no!!!! What the hell is wrong with you guys? Hating someone for a role? Grow up! If someone say the same shit about Iron Man you will trash talk to the person who said that because he's a man, you're just a bunch of misogynist. And don't tell me the characters aren't the same at all. They are, not in the same way but they are.
4.5/5 It's an excellent movie, there's some issues, the script is quite good but the story could have been better. I laughed a lot, Kamala is SO fun (I'm a Kamala stan).
See you next week for the next article. We can even share a raclette together.
