Schindler's List, remember the Holocaust
Schindler's List is a 1993 movie directed by Steven Spielberg.
It's a 3h15 long movie in black and white which makes the movie even more touching and to remember the more than 6.000 Jews who died during WWII and if you haven't watched it you must do it if you aren't too young or too sensitive.
It is based on the real events which happened during WWII of how Oskar Schindler saved the lives of 1000 jews, a number that we have thanks to Schindler's list.
The movie retraces the events of what the Jews went through during the Nazi's government from the beginning until the end of the war.
The movie shows how Oskar Schindler, played by Liam Neeson, tricked the Nazis to save the lives of the Jews who were working in his factory. The movie also shows that the Jews were united to survive. It also shows how horrible Nazis were to the Jews. I think about Amon Goeth, played by Ralph Fiennes, who was a monster toward these people.
I won't say much about the movie itself because it is not something easy to see and describing it is even worse.
I love this movie because it doesnt let the public forget what happened and makes us realize that all the Germans during this period weren't Nazis and some of the Nazis, like Schindler joined the party just to have an occasion to earn money without necessarily adhering to the ideas.
We don't really know why Oskar Schindler saved the Jews because the author of the book, Thomas Keneally, met by accident one of Schindler's Jew and wrote this story after Schindler's death so what he wrote down is what the Jews who were saved by him who told the author everything they knew.
Liam Neeson's performance in this movie is moving, the scene in which the Jews give Schindler the list with the letter in case he get catch makes me cry every time because it shows how human they all remain during this period and how Schindler felt guilty to not being able to save one more person.
5/5 This movie is just perfect, I can even give it a 6/5.
See you next week for the next article. We can even share a raclette together.
