Falling, a new look to broken families who are trying to fix it once they made their own
Falling is a 2020 movie directed by Viggo Mortensen which had issues to be released due to covid.
In this movie the spectator follows the story of John, played by Viggo Mortensen, who lives in the city, with his boyfriend and their adoptive daughter, far from the rural life in which he grew up. His father who still lives in the countryside suffers from dementia and John wants him to live with them because he doesn't want to live on his own with this illness even though his father is homophobic and all the things he put him and his sister through.
The movie switches from the common past and present of the father and the son to understand both actual points of view.
Viggo Mortensen put a part of his own story to screen the movie which makes it more realistic, more touching if I can say so.
5/5 The screening, the script and the music were perfect and the fact that it talks about a lot of real life (parents or grand-parents who are no longer able to live on their own, family issues) which touch everyone makes it interesting to understand others.
See you next week for the next article.
