Trilogy Night at the Museum
The Night at the museum movies were released in 20016, 2009 and 2014; in this article I won't focus on the cartoon released in 2022 (I will write an article about it later if you enjoyed this article). They were directed by Shawn Levy.
Larry Daley, played by Ben Stiller, is a divorced single man who lives in New York. He shares custody of his son with his ex-wife and he has to find a stable job to be able to still see him.
He got the job of night guardian for the Museum of Natural History of New York, he accepted just because he had no other options and mainly to see his son.
He discovers that during the night time the Museum is brought to life, everything exposed in it comes to life; from Theodore Roosevelt, played by the missed Robin Williams, to the animals going through the little expositions as the cowboy Jedediah, played by Owen Wilson, and the Roman Octavius, played by Steve Coogan, until Ahkmenrah, played by Rami Malek, who's tablet is the origin of this anomaly which happens by night.
In those three movies Larry has to save the expositions of a museum and the great thing about this trilogy is that we change the museum at each movie but we keep this link with the Museum of Natural History of New York every time.
This trilogy shaped my childhood and gave me this love of history that I have had for a long time (it started with Ancient Egypt as I watched those movies).
Those are great because it brings children to like museums, which are the kind of places that children tend to not really appreciate.
5/5 Those movies are extremely well written. The only little issue that I find (that is not really important) is that the director didn't want to make Jedediah and Octavius finish together while the actors of the characters definitively shipped them.
See you next week for the next article. We can even share a raclette together.
