Crimes of the future, a way to see the evolution of mankind and surgery

Crimes of the future is a 2022 movie by David Cronenberg.

In this movie the spectator follows the story of Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen) and his partner for his performances called Caprice, played by Lea Seydoux.

In their society mankind knows new kinds of mutations that are useless for them. They have useless organs that grow on and in them. Saul has many of them that appear really quickly and with Caprice they make shows of the surgeries that Caprice has to do on him; those shows are illegal and are like freakshows in this futuristic society.

Due to all these changes in his body and the surgeries Saul has issues eating and sleeping and because of that he had to buy a specific bed and a specific chair to let him sleep and eat properly but he doesn't see much changes.

Saul and Caprice meet bureaucrats who are actually working in the National Organ Registry, an office created by the government to register all the body anomalies. Timlin, played by Kristen Stewart, one of the bureaucrats, is fascinated by Saul's artistic goals and interprets those surgeries as the new sex (a thing that is said a lot of times by Caprice and Saul).

A mysterious group takes contact with Saul to take advantage of his notoriety to show the next step in evolution and Saul doesn't really want to show it in public because he knows that the public is not ready to see it.

2.5/5 I was highly disturbed by this movie (and it is extremely rare for me to be disturbed by something), even though it is an excellent one. There's something about the mood of the movie that I didn't like, I'm pretty sure that this movie was made to disturb the public.
