Wednesday, the come-back of the Addams family
Wednesday is a Netflix mini-series of 8 episodes directed by Tim Burton.
In this series the spectators find back the Addams family on screen, but this series focused on the daughter called Wednesday.
Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, got fired from her school after she attacked her brother Pugsley's bullies. Her parents, Morticia and Gomez played by Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán, sent her to a boarding school called Nevermore to make her more integrated; this is no common school it is a school for outcast children but also the place where Morticia and Gomez met and fell in love.
Once her parents left the school Wednesday start to plan her evasion from the school but quickly learn that there's some strange murders around the school and the city nearby, murders that will catch her attention and change her mind to escape because she seems link to the destruction of the school, according to a student, but also because she was present to the murder of a student.
The series is turned into a detective mystery and Wednesday, which changes a lot from all the other adaptations of the Addams family, will solve it with the information she gets from the documents of the police but also thanks to her visions. There are a lot of plot twists when we learn something new.
4.5/5 The series changes from the other adaptations of Charles Addams' family, but in a good way. It is made for teenagers, which is a good idea to bring the younger spectators to watch it but the oldest can have nostalgia by seeing Christina Ricci who played Wednesday Addams in the 1990's adaptation of the Addams Family.
